Designing forms people actually finish
Abandonment is rarely about length. It is about the moment someone is asked for something they do not have to hand.
The standard advice is to make forms shorter. It is not wrong, but it misses the mechanism. People abandon forms at the field that asks for something they cannot answer from where they are sitting.
The fix is ordering and framing rather than deletion. Ask for the cheap things first so there is momentum.
