Challenge
The material was never hard to find — it was hard to find in one place. Songs on YouTube, the catechism in a PDF, prayers in a printed booklet, the calendar on a parish noticeboard, and nothing at all when the signal drops in the middle of a novena. Catholic Light TV wanted the whole of it in one app, and wanted to be able to keep it current themselves without coming back to us each time.
Brand
Catholic Light TV brought a logo and we built the rest of the system around it — typeface, colour, spacing, and how a screen of scripture should sit on a phone. The reference point was edtech rather than devotional design: structured, quiet, unfussy. Nothing gilded, nothing that treats the reader as though they need convincing
Website
A Flutter app for iOS and Android on a Laravel backend we also built. Songs, prayers, catechism and the lives of the saints sit alongside a liturgical calendar and a light news blog, sorted by Nigerian language so a reader isn't handed English by default. The rosary follows the week, opening on the mysteries set for that day. A Faith Companion answers catechism questions in plain language, the way a catechist would rather than the way a search box does. Anything can be downloaded, favourited, or gathered into a playlist, so it all still works when the signal drops. The parish directory carries mass and confession times, sacraments, organisations and photos, and finds the parishes nearest you. Behind it, an admin lets Catholic Light TV publish and edit everything themselves.
Outcome
The admin is already live, so Catholic Light TV are loading and correcting content themselves ahead of release — the app arrives full rather than filling up afterwards. The app itself is built and in testing, with release close.
